Natural Hand Care

I use the African Shea Butter or Karite Butter in my hand
care because of its non-greasy softening ability, and is easily absorbed into the
skin. Shea Butter helps cell regeneration and capillary circulation; thus shea
butter is found in all my skin care to help in the healing of small wound or
skin cracks. Shea Butter comes from the African Karite nut tree and is is high
in the essential fatty acid called linoleic acid which makes it ideal for all
skin types and skin problems. It also provides excellent protection from the UV
rays.
I use Glycerin which is a sweet thick clear liquid that is the natural
by-product of soap making. Glycerin is a wonderful emollient (softens) and
humectant (attracts and moisturizes) giving glycerin multiple benefits to
natural skin care. I use the glycerin to add to my hand crèmes as it leaves skin
most and soft.
I use the Tee tree oil in my cuticle cure balm because it has potent
anti-fungal, antiseptic, anti-viral and anti-bacterial actions. This oil’s germ
fighting capability is not irritating to even sensitive skin.

This balm was created in 1990 with my own beeswax, as a
result of dry cracked hands and nail beds from gardening, farming, and
multiple hourly hand-washings as a nurse. A secret blend of tea tree
(antifungal and antibacterial) and eucalyptus essential oils with almond
and jojoba oils in beeswax.
